We humans expect new growth to be linear, upward, onward. We want to live a 5-point sermon, follow the rules, easily traceable and charted.
But God grows us slow and it’s not often linear. Our truest growth in God is often not neat and tidy.
If we’re honest, this is hard for *most* of us. We want the overnight change, the flash of a breakthrough, the victory story that happened in one weekend retreat.
But growth in God happens over accumulated minutes, measured by the decade.
Adoration is how I talk to God, in those important-but-not-flashy minutes. I bring my raw emotion to His Word. I don’t forfeit what’s real inside of me (I don’t “talk Christian”) and His Word is a tether for that conversation. It’s not showy, but it can change a minute. And then another. And then another.
