Middle Minutes Adoration

My Westernized life, my low pain tolerance, my impatience, and my sin have oriented me toward my destination. It’s not always bad to have our eye on a destination, but when my eyes are mostly only fixed there, I wither. But God, in His gentleness with me, is re-wiring me toward … journey.

Paul’s words to the Philippians are for me, also: “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). He is working … always working … even when (especially when) I haven’t reached my desired destination … and I am His participant. His child.

I wonder if I find more freedom to dance before Him like that little girl He made me to be the more I submit to journey over destination?
