Your Glory Welling Up, From Within

And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. John 17:10**

I am Yours. I can hide in the safety of another’s leadership over my life; leadership from One who is so kind.

You claim me. You aren’t afraid to own me, all of me and all of my lack gets wrapped up in You.

I adore You, Father.

You call me Yours — not to dictate or coldly govern, but You include me.

I play a part.

Can all that is perfect want anything more? Yet Your life is an invitation to the me who falls short, to participate in that perfect glory.

I am not only shared by You and Your Father but I get to wear Your glory. You entrust Your name to me. You see all that I’m not and miss none of my gaps — yet You not only love me, but involve me. God, You live in embrace. Your life doesn’t love from a distance, it invites and redeems from within. Your glory wells up … inside of me.

And I am a part of Your story. How could this be?! You don’t need me, yet You welcome me. You want me. I am not a cog in Your wheel, I am a participant in Your glory.

I adore You, oh God who is not threatened by my sin. You don’t shy away, You engulf with Your invitation.

My transparent skin becomes a vehicle for You-inside-of-me to become so obviously You on the outside of me. You allow this, Your Father ordained it.

Your fellowship with Him is accessible to me. You let me in. You share You with me. You let me, where I am now — still covered in flesh — partake. And in partaking, I want more.

I love You, oh God mysterious. Your ways are not of this world.

Again, I whisper, with this adoration: I barely know You.

**So what do I do with these posts, you ask, other than just read them? First, if you haven’t yet, read: Why I Adore and Morning Chai, Explained to give you a context for this little space on my blog.

If you are compelled, I invite you to participate. Set up a space and time in your own life to begin adoring. Over laundry or dinner dishes, on your commute to work, or in the wee morning hours — five or ten minutes is a great start. You can use the verse I list here every day or two as a launch pad for your own adoration. (Showing Up gives you some practicals.)

Then practice praise.

Add to my adoration here, by posting a comment with your own words back to God about God …or hide it in your heart. Or wait until a Monday and link up to my adoration posts with your own adoration.

I promise your weary soul won’t regret it.
