But the Lord shall endure forever. Psalm 9:7**
She sinks her feet into the sand which holds the ocean deep and You speak forever. Her maiden beach walk and You say to my spirit there is so much more to come.
Like the sands on the beach or the waters that seem to crawl under the sky’s canvas and fade into infinity — is my relationship with You, forever God.
We have only just begun.
I have known the ending of relationships, abruptly, and become familiar with the kind of goodbyes where you only hope your paths will cross again now to find those encounters to be permanent memories. But You, oh God, You are ever unfolding. Always promising new. You are the scent of more.
So I weep at these words here now. My body which migrates towards static and craves the dynamic. I was made to hunger for more. I was made to find home in the forever Man who means forever-more-of-Him, by making Himself One who forever endures.
My first brush with forever is a Man who promises to always unfold more of Himself to me. Unto eternity.
You are the builder-God and I worship You for taking yesterday’s virginal-encounters and growing them up to be mature love. I praise You for building on me, and in me, something that will continue in You into eternity.
I love you, forever-enduring God. Forever enduring me. Forever unpacking my heart and making it Yours.
The view You have given the angels is one I will one-day witness, first hand, because You are the forever enduring God. I will know You into forever.
You never change, but when I come close to You I am always changing. Not just on this side, but into eternity.
Into forever.
