Psalm 16:7 I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel**
Every answer I’ve ever sought is found in You.
You, as Word in front of me and You, as Spirit within me. You dispense answers to my unknown. But You are not a vending machine — waiting for an even exchange: my payment for Your response. You use counsel as invitation for intimacy.
I praise You for relationship, when my heart wants to shut off and be transactional.
I praise You for when Your counsel is silent and You call me to press in deeper for response, to seek You further for more of You. I praise You for when Your counsel is simple, making my complexities clear.
You offer insight into my daily questions – about You, about me, about them. A forever-Hand wrapped around my trembling fingers as if to say there is no room for fear in Your safe counsel. You clasp, tight, around my flesh.
You’ve made me to starve without a listening ear because Your response sets me free. You allow struggle so that I might begin to believe — over my every single moment — that You made me to engage with You.
I praise You for partnership. You perfect and me weak, You still call me bride and whisper to me Your secrets. Your Word, a treasury and Your Spirit, a healer.
I adore You, oh God who is not silent. You speak and I come alive. You counsel and I walk out wisdom.

If you are compelled, I invite you to participate. Set up a space and time in your own life to begin adoring. Over laundry or dinner dishes, on your commute to work, or in the wee morning hours — ten minutes is a great start. You can use the verse I list here every day or two as a launch pad for your own adoration.
Then practice praise.
