Slid away to the mountains to celebrate our 20th. I’m sure people told us, but we didn’t believe them until we lived it: marriage has initiated some of the hardest, most unwanted work of our lives. It’s been the catalyst for some of the greatest pain of our lives. But because of this, it’s become a place of profound restoration. We wanted the latter without the former. But with each year I’m growing more aware that those flatlands, the low-lands, the pain-flooded valleys … it’s where He does His best work.
