View this post on Instagram Sometimes I fool myself into thinking that I'm in a holding pattern … that I need more time, space, and energy to give towards a shift in my life. And so I keep waiting — reacting to the next thing in front of me, responding to my heart (or ignoring it) as I always have. But decades of history show me: the most considerable heart shifts (read: changes in my relationship with God) started with one minute. . The world hangs in suspension. Few of us know what to expect from October or November. But our hearts don't need to sit in this same holding pattern. We don't need a newly confirmed schedule, a new sense of stability, or even a new planner. The shift of heart, or the eyes — a greater awareness of our connectedness to Him — can start with a 7-minute walk in the woods today. Or three more minutes of talking to Him in the kitchen. Sitting on your front porch after dusk, unclenching your fists, and holding your Bible. Anyone else need the reminder that we're not subject to the holding pattern of the world … and that the shift you crave in your relationship with God is more within reach than you thought?
