My Life is Full of Favorites

It’s that time again. I love finding my favorites and sharing them. (The beauty of this God-Man shows up in His children.) And this month they are popping up among my friends. Though this list is by no means exhaustive! Here’s just a little early-taste of the people I love to celebrate. (There will be more of these to come :)):

The Simple Ways Once a researcher, now one who, by sheer necessity, gleans from another, I jumped in on her class knowing that these would be the very cliff’s notes I need. And let me tell you, this was the right place to glean! My sweet friend was so professional and gave me just the information I needed to inch my way towards a healthier life for me and my family. If you’re looking for palatable ways to feed your family the foods their bodies need (and you live in the Kansas City area), check out The Simple Ways.

If you live out of state, I suspect this may grow beyond our city limits. “Like” her on facebook and glean tips, remote!

My children are loving their blueberry water kefir and it takes almost no time to make. Thank you Mary Beth!

African Adoration We met on a “playdate”, Ugandan style, sans Starbucks’ cups and big plastic playgrounds.  And though she has three times my quiver, this friend’s mouth is giving Him the praise He is due. If you wonder what adoration looks like on the brink of a cliff, here’s a woman who is breathing it in the highs and the lows. At times life may look down, but she is lifting His Words up and making her African soil a soft place to adore. This post made me cry.

More Lucy O Photo Just like back in the day, she found, buried deep in her pocket, an old roll of film. Old photos from an earlier season are new treasure for her …and for us. Though we live our lives in such color, I love the simplicity of her black and white. Lucy makes an argument for old-school film with her gift.

From the Unpaved Road From one who loves to write, I have only measured time to read. This blog has made it into my “reader” and this post speaks my language. Another story of beauty, spilled out, on Africa’s watch. I’m blessed to call Michele a new cyber-friend.

Wonder and Worth We share hearts for Him and experiences with His Word and His whisper across the couch from one another in a room full of hungry hearts, every Wednesday. We also share a love for the fatherless. Kinsey’s post here on The Orphan Justice Center’s blog is one of a few I’ll be highlighting in the upcoming months. Read, save, pass along. She sees with His eyes.

Disillusionment …a gift? “I believe that what I do with that disillusionment is of such significance that it can mean life or death to my soul.” Wise-old wisdom tucked away in a young mom’s experience. Kelly writes of Him springing up all over her motherhood. This post is good, period, but especially for us moms. I love doing motherhood alongside her (despite being a few states away).

Thin Places Amy Julia writes here about a word we just need to let go of and a story we can’t ignore. If you missed my earlier post on her book, it’s a must read. Grab a glass of water kefir, kick up your feet and prepare to have your heart stretched.

A Walk Across the Sun Have you ordered it yet? If not, I will warn you: I’ve yet to talk with someone who can read this in more than a few sittings. It’s gripping and so deeply uplifting. This book will get into your bloodstream.
