Being Fully Convinced

As I wait, in an effort to better explain the significance of God’s nature and character as revealed to me as I pray and mediate on His word, at times I think I take away from the strength of those words themselves (and His Spirit illuminating them).

This morning I’ve been reminded. Beckoned by Him to believe. Coached.

Here’s what He says:

God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did . . .

[Abraham] who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken ‘So shall your descendants be.’ And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what God had promised He was able to perform.

Romans 4:17-20

God, make us fully convinced . Give us prayers for our girls out of a place deep within us that is fully convinced that what you promised you are able to perform … against all seeming odds.
